FairPlay Employer Award
In February, we were pleased to be awarded with the Chwarae Teg FairPlay Employer Award.
We worked closely with Chwarae Teg to improve our current practices and specifically to review staff perceptions from an equality and diversity perspective.
During this process all of our employees were invited to take part in an anonymous survey. We then analysed and used the survey results to set out an Equality & Diversity Strategy and Action Plan.
The aim of the plan is to embed inclusive working practices to support the recruitment, retention and progression of women working in Wales.
Our specific objectives were:
- To provide a culture that embraces diversity, has open channels of communication and provides clear and inclusive support to all employees.
- To improve attraction of candidates to opportunities and to review the process for fair and transparent practices within recruitment.
- To support managers to embed a structured and transparent approach to performance management, that supports individual career development.
- To improve internal avenues for effective and meaningful communication, both within the consistency of management support and in encouragement of employee voice.
