Popular during the pandemic (with employees being less keen to travel on public transport), these schemes provide a cost-effective way of hiring a cycle, and/or accessories such as safety equipment -to be used for active travel. Tax efficient, they operate through salary sacrifice which is why an employee agrees to give up part of their pre-tax salary in exchange for the benefit. Both employer and employee benefit from National Insurance savings, and the employee can become fitter and healthier. Typically, the employee will have the option to purchase the cycle at the end of the higher period. We work with all the main scheme providers and can assist with set up.
