Health Insurance

Everyone values good health. It can be challenging for employers to find benefits that appeal to all age groups, but most employees appreciate some form of private medical provision. It’s also a popular and effective benefit when it comes to attracting and retaining quality people.

Health Insurance covers the cost of medical investigations, consultations and/or treatment for acute conditions. It aims to restore a person back to good health as quickly as possible and is intended to work alongside the invaluable services offered by the NHS. Unfortunately, with NHS waiting lists under increasing pressure it provides employees with an alternative and gives them control and choice when it comes to their health.

Group plans benefit from corporate rates, and additional economies of scale can be achieved for larger schemes.

  • Timely referrals to, and choice of consultants/specialists who oversee ongoing care (Initial referrals usually via employee’s GP)
  • Quick admission to hospital at the most convenient time and place for the employee

Health Cash Plan

This is a popular, simple, and low-cost health and well-being benefit intended to maintain a healthy and happy workforce. It is a benefit that employees like, use, and talk about. It can therefore be a great tool to increase employee engagement, motivation, and morale.

It helps to cover the cost of everyday medical expenses for example, optical check-ups, glasses, and lenses; dental check-ups and treatment; chiropractor/physiotherapy treatments; and complimentary therapies.

Many Health Cash Plans also include access to a discounts platform where employees can obtain a multitude of savings or cash back on shopping (food, fuel, and clothing); travel and holidays; theatre and cinema tickets; technology, and gym discounts to name but a few.

An Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) can be included as an option and offers vital support to employees and their immediate family, who can access a 24/7 helpline manned by professionally trained counsellors. This allows them to seek help and advice on any issues that are affecting their mental wellbeing e.g., financial worries, relationship worries, health problems etc. Services can usually also be accessed online, or by face to face/virtual sessions. EAP’s are also available as a standalone benefit.

Dental Plans

A corporate dental plan covers the cost of dental check-ups and treatment, which can either be through the NHS, or privately. It allows an employer to support and encourage employees to look after their everyday dental health. It also provides the reassurance of having cover for unforeseen events like dental accidents, emergencies, and mouth cancer. The employee pays for the dental treatment, and then claims the money back from the insurer. Many insurers provide a choice of cover levels allowing plans to be tailor made to fit the business requirements and budget.

Dental Schemes are available for two employees or more.

Health Screenings

A valued benefit, this provides an employee with an annual health check-up. For the employer it's the equivalent of an MOT on an employee’s health. It helps employees to recognise health issues early and follow advice to improve health and wellbeing. The employer only pays for the screening once it has taken place. A healthier workforce is more productive and engaged.
